Mission Kids is a 501 c 3 non-profit organization that coordinates child abuse investigations and provides appropriate referrals to victims and their non-offending family members.
Before your visit to Mission Kids, we encourage you to talk to your child about the interviewing process and his or her feelings surrounding the visit. Doing this can make it easier on your child as well as foster a smoother interviewing process.
The day of the interview can be challenging, but Mission Kids will try to make things easier for both you and your child. Knowing things like how long the interview may last, where you’ll be during the interview and when you can ask questions can reduce anxiety. Directions
Once the interview has finished, you’ll have an opportunity to speak with a member of the team to express any questions or concerns. At this time, a Family Advocate will discuss any possible medical or counseling referrals. Read more about Missions Kids’ Family Advocates and their role in the healing process.
