The Community Prevention Educator is a flexible position, which could include day-time, evening and weekends depending on candidate’s availability and the agency’s needs.

This position helps raise community awareness and improve the response to child abuse in Montgomery County. The Community Prevention Educator will be responsible for delivering trainings to children, child-serving professionals, and community members on child abuse and child abuse prevention strategies. Responsibilities include providing face-to-face delivery of child and adult programs, assisting with developing strategies, implementing program marketing, and building constituent relationships. This position assists Mission Kids’ Prevention Education & Outreach Manager with child abuse education efforts, including but not limited to trainings, speaking engagements, presentations, fairs, and volunteer recruitment. Specific focus will be directed to elementary-aged students, educators, child-serving professionals, community leaders, businesses, and foster care families.

Skill and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education, social services, psychology, criminal justice, marketing, communications or related field; two to three years’ experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of background checks which include child abuse history, criminal history and FBI clearances
  • Bi-lingual a plus
