Outreach
Education and community outreach are the cornerstones of prevention of child abuse. Mission Kids is committed to reaching out to the diverse communities in Montgomery County to teach adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Our goal is to increase knowledge, improve attitudes, and change child protective behaviors.
By growing and expanding our educational outreach services, Mission Kids is working to empower local communities to recognize, report, and support victims of child abuse.
As part of our child abuse education efforts, Mission Kids offers two evidence-based prevention programs addressing child sexual abuse throughout Montgomery County. In offering these programs, our goal is to reduce the number of children victimized in our community. While Mission Kids has outstanding services to child sexual abuse victims, it is the desire to reduce and eliminate the needs for services. Research has clearly demonstrated the lifelong, devastating effects of child sex abuse. It is our goal to reduce the number of child sexual abuse victims.
Support of the community is crucial to Mission Kids’ continued success as we continue to provide healing and hope to the children and families we serve every day.
