Members of Mission Kids’ On-Site Mental Health Services Team are employees of our partner organization, Creative Health Services (CHS), who provide on-site mental health services to children served by Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center.

Mission Kids and CHS are seeking a therapist who will work on-site at Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center as part of our Promoting Safe Behaviors (PSB) Program. The PSB Program at Mission Kids addresses the needs of youth with problematic sexual behaviors (YPSB) through evidence-based treatment and diversionary services. It involves separate weekly group sessions for youth and their caregivers, focusing on rules about sexual behavior, coping skills, and communication. Job Description:

The PSB Therapist will provide evidenced-based intervention to youth with problematic sexual behavior and their families as a part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. This position will require skills in working with children/youth and caregivers by providing intervention both in a group and individual setting. The therapist will receive training and clinical supervision to deepen understanding of children/youth with problematic sexual behavior. This position will require someone who is licensed or licensed eligible.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts intake interviews, assessments.
  • Engage with MDT partners within the scope of practice.
  • Develop a plan of treatment that is recovery-oriented and tailored to the specific needs of the consumer for whom it is written.
  • Conduct individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy using evidenced based interventions employed in a manner consistent with ethical standards of practice.
  • If licensed, maintains license as current at all times. Maintenance of a current license shall qualify as having met minimum annual training requirements.
  • If not licensed or license-eligible, attends regular clinical supervision with a licensed practitioner and attends at least 20 hours of continuing education/relevant trainings per year.
  • Promote strong, effective working relationships with partner agencies and service providers.
  • Attends clinical supervision and/or team meetings as applicable and required.
  • Participates in the agency and program-specific quality assurance and improvement plans.
  • Cooperates and collaborates with other members of the team in a manner that promotes the growth and healthy development of consumers served and the agency as a whole.
  • Maintains clinical records according to agency standards and system requirements for each consumer assigned.
  • Participates in assignment team meetings and other meetings as assigned.
  • Appropriately plans for and coordinates continuity of care of consumers.
  • Report all unusual incidents, accidents, conflicts of interest, or other issues potentially problematic to the agency, staff, or consumer(s) promptly to the Outpatient Director.
  • Requires one night a week and travel between offices.
  • Training will require out-of-state travel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree Required
  • License Preferred

  • The criminal justice system and the roles of the participants, specifically the juvenile justice system.
  • Victim rights

Creative Health Services is offering a $500.00 sign-on bonus. This will be provided to you in your first pay with the agency. A second $500.00 bonus will be provided upon the completion of your 90 days with the agency.
