Lindsay O’Brien Joins Mission Kids Board of Trustees

Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center welcomes Lindsay O’Brien, Esq., to its Board of Trustees following her appointment in September 2026. A former Montgomery County prosecutor and founding member of Mission Kids’ Young Friends Board, Lindsay brings extensive legal and investigative experience, along with a longstanding connection to the children and families Mission Kids serves.

Lindsay served as an Assistant District Attorney in Montgomery County from 2010 to 2017, including as Captain of the Domestic Violence Unit. In that role, she supervised prosecutors and staff, investigated and prosecuted cases involving domestic violence and sexual assault, and trained law enforcement and fellow prosecutors. Through her work alongside Mission Kids, she saw firsthand the importance of a coordinated, compassionate response to abuse.

“As a former Assistant District Attorney, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact Mission Kids has on children and families in our community who have been affected by abuse,” said O’Brien. “I am honored and excited to join the Board of Trustees and look forward to helping advance Mission Kids’ important mission of protecting children, supporting families, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to heal and thrive.”

Her commitment to Mission Kids also took shape outside the courtroom. As one of the founding members of the Young Friends Board, now known as the Young Professionals Group, Lindsay helped organize fundraisers that brought community members together in support of the organization. These included happy hours, yoga events, and donation-based classes she taught herself.

“Lindsay understands our work because she has been part of it, both as a prosecutor working alongside our team and as a volunteer bringing others into our mission,” said Leslie Slingsby, Mission Kids’ Chief Executive Officer of Services and Operations. “She knows how much it matters for children and families to have support after abuse. We are grateful to welcome her to the board and to have her experience and commitment helping guide our work.”

A certified yoga teacher trained in mindfulness-based stress reduction, Lindsay continues to share her time and skills with Mission Kids. This Thanksgiving, she will teach a class at Hotbox Yoga in Ambler at 9:30AM with proceeds benefiting the organization.

Beyond her work as a prosecutor, Lindsay has held investigative roles at Drexel University and the School District of Philadelphia, addressing reports of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment. Her experience includes trauma-informed investigations, mediation, policy development, and professional training.

She currently serves as a Senior Contract Manager/Agreements Specialist with ICON plc, dedicated to Merck, and consults on Title IX matters for universities in the Philadelphia area. She earned her law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Lindsay’s appointment continues a relationship with Mission Kids that has spanned professional collaboration, volunteer leadership, and community fundraising. She brings to the board both an understanding of the systems families navigate after abuse and a personal commitment to helping them receive support.
