Our Commitment
Fostering diversity, equity, and access is foundational to our mission of protecting and supporting kids. These values drive us toward a brighter, more inclusive future where every family feels empowered and supported.
DEA vs. DEI: Why “Access” Matters
We recognize that “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion” (DEI) is a widely used and well-understood phrase across many organizations.
At Mission Kids, we use “Diversity, Equity, and Access” (DEA) to reflect our unique focus on removing barriers that prevent participation in the first place.
While “inclusion” is about helping people feel like they belong, “access” is about making sure they have the opportunity to be part of the group from the beginning. By focusing on access, we work to fix unfair systems and create equal opportunities for everyone to succeed. This helps build a fairer and more welcoming environment for all.
Our DEA Core Values
Our commitment to DEA is rooted in these core values:
- Inclusion: Ensuring everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
- Equity: Providing fair access to opportunities, resources, and support for all families.
- Access: Removing barriers so every family can fully participate and receive the support they need.
- Collaboration: Building strong partnerships to address systemic challenges and empower diverse voices.
- Growth: Continuously learning, reflecting, and improving our practices to create lasting change.
- Integrity: Staying true to our mission by prioritizing transparency, respect, and accountability in all we do.

Turning Commitment into Action: Our DEA Plan
