About the Lesson

This presentation is aimed at enhancing your understanding of child abuse and equipping you with the necessary tools to intervene effectively. We’ll delve into the prevalence of child abuse, identifying red flags, managing concerning statements and disclosures, and reinforcing the responsibilities of mandated reporters.

Child abuse is a prevalent public health concern with a serious array of consequences. We’ll offer comprehensive insights into the prevalence of child abuse, both on a national scale and within our local community, to underscore the urgency of this issue. Participants will learn to recognize potential indicators of abuse and respond appropriately to disclosures, fostering a culture of support and protection for children in need.

It’s important to know what happens after a child discloses abuse. We’ll share the range of services they provide to child abuse victims and their families. Through forensic interviews, counseling, and support services, Mission Kids plays a pivotal role in facilitating the healing process for survivors of abuse.
