program overview
Mission Kids has been awarded PCCD Grant Funding to offer Basic Training in Eye Movement Desensitization (EMDR) to 30 licensed clinicians from Pennsylvania who are serving clients at, or in partnership with, their local Children’s Advocacy Center.
Training will be provided virtually by the Trauma Specialists Training Institute.
This program is EMDRIA approved and requires 40 hours of training delivered in two, 3-day segments and 10 hours of consultation groups. Each segment is preceded by 1.5 hours of EMDR Basic Training asynchronous video content, which must be completed individually before group training begins.
The program will be delivered in two, 3-day segments on the following dates*:
- May 14-16, 2026 (Segment 1)
- July 23-25, 2026 (Segment 2)
Segment 1
- May 14, 2026: 9AM-5:30PM ET
- May 15, 2026: 9AM-5:30PM ET
- May 16, 2026: 9AM-4:30PM ET
The consultation group schedule will be chosen on May 16, 2026. Consultation groups will meet four times between segments and a fifth time following July 25, 2026. Consultation group hours do not count towards clinical supervision hours.
Segment 2
- July 23, 2026: 9AM-5:30PM ET
- July 24, 2026: 9AM-5:30PM ET
- July 25, 2026: 9AM-4:30PM ET
The group training consists of didactic training and practice portions. Participants will also break out into smaller groups to practice the EMDR skills learned. This means they will experience EMDR as a therapist, a client, and an observer during this training. This component is key to learning EMDR and is part of the EMDRIA requirements. Consultation Groups typically take place during business hours. Consultation Group hours are required by EMDRIA, so should be prioritized once scheduled.
*If you are unable to attend the 2026 dates, you are still encouraged to apply.
Future training dates are anticipated for 2027, and interested applicants may be contacted if additional segments become available.
eligibility
- To apply, a licensed clinician must be working as a clinical staff member at a CAC or must be serving CAC clients through a linkage agreement.
- It's important that you see clients while you are in training so you can apply what you learn and ask for feedback during consultation.
- Not sure if you qualify? Contact us to discuss further.
program requirements
All participants must attend all 40 training hours and participate in 10 hours of follow-up case consultation involving a minimum of 2-3 child trauma cases. EMDRIA requires clinicians to complete EMDR Basic Training within one year of start date.
Mission Kids will cover all training costs and will pay the training vendor directly.
Any participant who registers but does not complete the training, or provide 30 days notice of cancellation, will be expected to personally reimburse the $1,275.00 training fee to Mission Kids.
