General Position Information

Title: Senior Creative & Digital Design Specialist
Job Type: Part-Time (18 hours per week)
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Communications
Salary: $25–$32 per hour, commensurate with experience and portfolio
Fair Labor Standard Act Status: Non-Exempt
Work Location: Hybrid preferred for local candidates (greater Montgomery County, PA), with the option for a fully virtual arrangement based on skillset and experience. Occasional on-site presence may be requested for local candidates to support photography, video, or events.

 

Position Summary:

Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center is seeking a highly skilled, senior-level creative professional to support the organization’s visual storytelling, campaign execution, and digital presence. This is a senior individual contributor role designed for an experienced designer who excels in translating strategy and messaging into compelling, mission-driven creative. The Senior Creative & Digital Design Specialist will lead the design and production of all print and digital assets, develop campaign-specific creative for fundraising, awareness, and special events, and support the organization’s digital channels including social media, email, and website. This role stewards Mission Kids’ established brand identity, applying it consistently and creatively across campaigns and platforms.

  • A design portfolio is required. Applications without a design portfolio will not be considered.
  • Candidate must be a resident of Pennsylvania.

 

Essential Duties & Tasks:

Creative Design & Campaign Execution

  • Lead the design and production of all print and digital materials, including flyers, booklets, brochures, social media graphics, email layouts, signage, and campaign collateral.
  • Develop campaign- and event-specific creative assets for fundraising, awareness initiatives, and special events, applying Mission Kids’ existing brand identity consistently and thoughtfully.
  • Ensure all creative materials align with established brand guidelines while adapting visuals to meet campaign goals and audience needs.
  • Prepare files for print/digital distribution and coordinate with external printers/vendors as needed.


Email Design & Digital Campaign Support

  • Design and build visually compelling emails in Constant Contact, including newsletters, fundraising appeals, event promotions, and campaign communications.
  • Ensure email designs are brand-aligned, accessible, and mobile-responsive.
  • Support integrated campaign execution across email, social media, website, and print.


Social Media Content & Visual Storytelling

  • Design and manage visual content for Mission Kids’ social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.
  • Create branded social media graphics and format content using messaging and strategy provided by the Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Schedule and publish content using tools such as Sprout Social and monitor basic engagement metrics to inform visual strategy.
  • Stay current on platform trends and visual best practices to ensure content remains effective and engaging.


Website Design & Page Build Support

  • Design and build visually engaging web pages and landing pages to support campaigns, events, and organizational priorities using WordPress Elementor and Classy/GoFundMe Pro.
  • Translate creative concepts into clean, user-friendly page layouts and implement them using the organization’s website platform.
  • Apply strong visual hierarchy, clarity, accessibility, and brand consistency to all website updates.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications on page structure, content flow, and updates as needed.
  • This role focuses on creative layout and page execution, not advanced technical web development or formal UX research.


Photography, Video & Asset Management (Skillset-Dependent)

  • For local candidates: capture photography and basic video content for events, office activities, and campaigns as needed.
  • For non-local candidates: edit, curate, and optimize provided photo and video assets for use across platforms.
  • Video production and short-form video editing experience is a strong plus but not required.


Collaboration & Project Management

  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to prioritize projects, manage timelines, and support strategic goals.
  • Manage multiple creative projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with external designers, printers, and vendors when needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Strong graphic design skills across print and digital mediums.
  • Experience designing and building emails in Constant Contact or similar email marketing platforms.
  • Working knowledge of website page layout and build tools (e.g., WordPress, Elementor, or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of social media platforms and visual content best practices.
  • Ability to execute creative based on provided messaging, strategy, and direction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills within a part-time environment.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership.
  • Nonprofit or mission-driven experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, including responding appropriately and legally to disclosures of abuse.

Education and Training:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, digital design, or creative production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • A strong design portfolio demonstrating print, digital, and campaign-based work is required.
  • Successful completion of background checks, including child abuse history, criminal history, and FBI clearances.
