Job Type: Full time
Office Schedule: Typical office hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
Salary: $53,000- $63,000 a year
Work Location: In-person, 521 Plymouth Road Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462. After a 90-day onboarding period, this role is eligible to transition to a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days remote per week.
Reports To: Finance Manager
Position Summary:
The Finance Associate supports the Finance Team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing, reviewing and processing financial data in accordance with policies and procedures, and assisting with accounting research, documentation and reporting as needed. This position is responsible for inputting financial data, recording bank transactions, processing biweekly payroll, generating invoices, processing payments, and tracking accounts receivable. The Finance Associate also assists with grant reporting, account reconciliations, audit preparation, and other financial activities to support the organization’s operational and compliance needs.
Essential Duties & Tasks:
- Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable -Process vendor payments and invoices, generate customer invoices and track accounts receivable, reconcile revenue-related transactions and resolve discrepancies
- Payroll Administration · Process biweekly payroll through Paychex, onboard and offboard employees as needed, review and monitor automated journal entries between Paychex and QuickBooks to ensure accuracy, review and resolve issues with employee benefit plans and payments
- Grant & Audit Support · Generate Grant reporting documents and invoices, assist with gathering information and supporting documentation for annual audits
- Additional Responsibilities · Support special projects and other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience utilizing third-party payroll systems and QuickBooks
- Experience with Bill.com is a plus
- Experience in a nonprofit environment
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting, or a related field
- PA Child Abuse Clearances Required
- Must successfully pass FBI fingerprinting, Pennsylvania State Police, and ChildLine background clearances.
