About the Lesson
This workshop is designed for adults who are legally mandated to report suspected child abuse. Participants will receive a brief overview of the PA Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) and their legal obligations as mandated reporters. Facilitated either virtually, or in-person, this workshop will enhance participants’ understanding of how to conduct a Minimal Facts Interview, avoiding unnecessary questioning before a forensic interview. Attendees will also learn how to make an effective ChildLine Report based on suspicion, discovery, or disclosure of child abuse. The session concludes with a brief explanation of what happens after a report is filed, including the involvement of investigative parties, the role of Child Advocacy Centers like Mission Kids, and available resources for child abuse victims and their families. Tailored to the needs of various groups, this 60-90 minute session empowers participants with the knowledge and skills to protect vulnerable children effectively.
