Through personal reflection and visual storytelling, he reinforces a central message for professionals in the field: trauma is not a death sentence, and healing is possible.

Fantasy or Fiction: Understanding & Evaluating Virtual Child Sexual Abuse Material Communities
Presenter: Elliot Jerge, Chief Operating Officer | ClickSafe Intelligence
This presentation is an in-depth training for law enforcement, investigators, analysts, and child safety professionals seeking to understand the evolving landscape of virtual child sexual abuse material (vCSAM). As emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality reshape online environments, vCSAM communities have become an increasingly relevant factor in child exploitation investigations. Participants will receive a clear definition of vCSAM, how it differs from traditional CSAM, the legal landscape across the United States, and how virtual content is created, shared, and discussed within online communities.
The course examines known vCSAM platforms and ecosystems, how users interact within them, and the indicators that may surface during broader child exploitation cases, including activity within virtual-reality environments. The training translates this knowledge into practical investigative applications, including digital indicators, hash lists, and intelligence value, while also addressing ongoing considerations related to prevention. By the end of the course, participants will better understand where vCSAM communities exist, why they matter to real-world investigations, and how awareness of virtual exploitation can strengthen efforts to protect children and support effective intervention strategies.

Redefining Justice: Empowering Survivors and Strengthening Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs)
Presenters: Kala Fell, LMFT, Partners in Hope Program Director | Creative Health Services; Kelly Hagenbaugh, LSW, PSB Clinical Supervisor | Creative Health Services
What does justice truly mean for victims of crime? How can we redefine it to better serve those affected by trauma? This compelling training invites participants to challenge traditional definitions of justice, which often prioritize legal procedures and punishment, and explore a more holistic, survivor-centered approach. Survivors often seek more than legal closure – they seek acknowledgment, healing and empowerment. This session will examine justice through the lens of trauma, healing and survivor autonomy, offering valuable insights into how multidisciplinary teams can better support victims at every stage of the process.
Led by experienced mental health clinicians who work directly on-site at a child advocacy center, this session offers a unique opportunity to learn from professionals who collaborate closely with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), including law enforcement, prosecutors, child protection workers, and victim advocates. These trauma therapists are integral members of the MDT, providing specialized support and guidance. With years of experience in MDT consultation, courtroom testimony, and trauma-informed care, these subject matter experts will share actionable strategies for amplifying survivor voice and choice, ensuring their emotional and psychological needs are prioritized.
Participants will gain practical tools to foster stronger MDT collaboration, building trust, and creating a supportive environment where survivors can heal. This session will empower you to redefine justice, integrate emotional and psychological dimensions into your practice, and improve outcomes for survivors of crime.

A Forensic Nurse and a Detective will provide attendees with information on the importance of neurobiology of trauma and its relationship to investigative strategies, as well as the medical-forensic response to child sexual abuse provided in a victim-centered, trauma-informed manner. By understanding the neurobiology and science of the brain, we can prepare law enforcement officers to conduct better victim interviews. The presenters will discuss how utilizing a multidisciplinary approach is considered best practice, as it provides a collaborative, victim-centered response to these sensitive crimes by reducing the potential for re-victimization, while also beginning the process of healing both physically and emotionally. This presentation will provide a unique perspective on how victims are handled by different disciplines, and will end with a case study involving the trauma-informed, multidisciplinary approach to a difficult child sex trafficking case.
