Family Online Safety Night

with Rep. Liz Hanbidge

Join us for an empowering and educational evening on Wednesday, August 14 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Ambler YMCA (located at 1325 McKean Rd, Ambler, PA 19002), presented in partnership with Representative Liz Hanbidge and the Ambler YMCA! This special event is designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 2-12 and kids ages 8-12, offering valuable tools to keep your family safe.

Workshop #1 for Parents/Caregivers of Kids Ages 2-12
Parents will participate in our 2-hour Smarter Parents workshop, led by Mission Kids’ trained facilitators. You’ll learn how to talk about sensitive topics like boundaries, personal safety, and navigating todays digital world. This workshop will help you communicate effectively with your children and keep them safe.

Workshop #2 for Kids Ages 8-12
Meanwhile, kids will join our certified team members for an engaging session using NetSmartz, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s hour-long online safety education program. NetSmartz provides age-appropriate videos and activities that teach kids how to stay safe online. The program raises awareness of online risks and empowers kids to make safer choices both online and offline.

For the second hour, children will enjoy playing basketball, doing crafts and other activities with officers from the Lower Gwynedd Police Department, supervised by certified childcare staff from the YMCA.

This event is completely free and aims to equip both parents and kids with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and their families. Don’t miss this opportunity to empower your family and build a safer community together!
