about the lesson

This event is designed for parents and caregivers of children aged 2-12 and kids ages 8-12, offering valuable tools to keep your family safe.

Workshop #1 for Parents/Caregivers of Kids Ages 2-12
Parents will participate in our 2-hour Smarter Parents workshop, led by Mission Kids’ trained facilitators. You’ll learn how to talk about sensitive topics like boundaries, personal safety, and navigating today’s digital world. This workshop will help you communicate effectively with your children and keep them safe.

Workshop #2 for Kids Ages 8-12
Meanwhile, children will join Mission Kids’ certified Community Prevention Educators for an engaging session about online safety education, called NetSmartz. This hour-long program provides age-appropriate videos and activities that teach kids how to stay safe online. NetSmartz raises awareness of online risks and empowers kids to make safer choices both online and offline.

During the second hour, kids will enjoy participating in sports, arts and crafts, or other fun activities alongside local police officers, all under the supervision of certified childcare staff.

This event is completely free and aims to equip both parents and kids with the knowledge and confidence to protect themselves and their families. Don’t miss this opportunity to empower your family and build a safer community together!
