Mission Kids is seeking a Family Advocate to join our team of professionals to provide support to child victims of crime and their non-offending family members.

The Family Advocate coordinates services to ensure a consistent and comprehensive network of support for the child and family. Family Advocates are specially-trained professionals who work with child victims of crime (primarily child sexual abuse, but also serious physical abuse, and witnesses to violent crimes) and their non-offending family members. The Family Advocate coordinates services to ensure a consistent and comprehensive network of support for the child and family. The critical role of the FA is to educate clients, help them anticipate possible stressors, provide accurate, up-to-date information, and continued access to services.

Ideal candidates will have a Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social services, psychology, criminal justice or related field and three years’ experience.

Bi-lingual a plus; Master’s degree a plus; Experience with child abuse a plus.

Mission Kids is seeking a full-time Community Prevention Educator to join our team of professionals to help raise community awareness and improve the response to child abuse, commercial sexual exploitation of children, and child pornography in Montgomery County.

The Community Prevention Educator will deliver trainings to children, youth-serving professionals, and community members on child abuse and child abuse prevention strategies, and will assist with developing strategies, implementing program marketing, and building relationships with community partners.

Ideal candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in education, marketing, communications or related field, as well as experience within education, child care, community outreach or marketing, 2-3 years preferred; Spanish-Speaking preferred.

Young Friends of Mission Kids:

Mission Kids is looking for Young Professionals, ages 21-40, to get involved with our organization’s ‘Young Friends of Mission Kids’ Committee. Ideal candidates should be committed to supporting the Child Advocacy Center’s mission through volunteerism, fundraising and community awareness.

Our Work: Mission Kids provides a direct service program that helps achieve healing
and justice for victims of child abuse and their families in Montgomery County, as well
as child abuse prevention education and community outreach programs.
Our Impact: The work of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center expands every year.
Mission Kids serves nearly 600 children and teens annually, and that number continues
to rise. Since Mission Kids opened its doors in 2009, the organization has served over
5,000 children and their families. With each new client comes greater need for
extended resources and funds.
Our Friends: The ‘Young Friends of Mission Kids’ Committee was established to reach
new generations and audiences who are connected to our mission and to find new ways
to meet the ever-growing needs of our Child Advocacy Center. This group of Young
Professionals, ages 21-40 years old, is committed to supporting the Child Advocacy
Center’s mission through volunteerism, fundraising and community awareness.
Membership: Being an active member of the “Young Friends” Committee is a great way
to contribute your time and talents to an important cause. In return, you will have
opportunities for socializing, networking, leadership development and fun while doing
something meaningful for children.

Volunteer Inquiries:

Mission Kids is often seeking volunteers to help donate their time and talent to support our Child Advocacy Center. Our non-profit organization collaborates with volunteers for a variety of tasks including clerical, special event planning, along with outreach, prevention, and educational events in the community.
