GRANTS MANAGER:

 

Mission Kids is seeking a full-time Grants Manager to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, government and corporate sources. The Grants Manager is responsible for writing proposals and submitting reports on grant funded projects and tracking grant status. This position is also responsible for prospect research, event support and special administrative projects.

Ideal candidates will have a Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Preferred. Candidates should have Nonprofit or philanthropic experience, along with strong strategic and analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability. The Grants Manager must be a highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial team player with strong personal work ethic, the ability to excel in a results-oriented environment and a proven ability to devise new and unique opportunities for achieving desired outcomes.

 

Essential Duties & Tasks:

  • Write, manage and report public and private grant applications and awards
  • Manage grant applications, public and private, and reporting calendar
  • Write applications, including the assembly of all proposal attachments and supporting materials, and grant reports
  • Work with appropriate program and administrative staff to obtain all necessary information on programs for inclusion in grant proposals and funder reports to execute application and reporting processes.
  • Manage grant files, including electronic and hard copy files, of all applications and correspondence.
  • Manage grant database filing systems to ensure accurate information
  • Work with finance and program staff to ensure an accurate, timely, efficient and transparent process for the entire grant life cycle, from proposal to close. This entails pre-award management, reviewing or producing relevant reports, monitoring and post-award management.
  • Work with program staff to follow-up on monitoring and evaluation reporting.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and solicit new sources of public, corporate and foundation funding and opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with funders

 

Ideal Candidates for this position should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Nonprofit or philanthropic experience
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or another Client Management Database)
  • Strong project management and time management skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent written communication skills, along with highly effective oral communications and presentation skills; professional writing experience preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter and entrepreneurial team player with strong personal work ethic, able to excel in a results-oriented environment
  • Proven ability to devise new and unique opportunities for achieving desired outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information effectively and confidentially
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Successful completion of background checks which include child abuse history, criminal history and FBI clearances

Young Friends of Mission Kids:

Mission Kids is looking for Young Professionals, ages 21-40, to get involved with our organization’s ‘Young Friends of Mission Kids’ Committee. Ideal candidates should be committed to supporting the Child Advocacy Center’s mission through volunteerism, fundraising and community awareness.

Our Work: Mission Kids provides a direct service program that helps achieve healing
and justice for victims of child abuse and their families in Montgomery County, as well
as child abuse prevention education and community outreach programs.
Our Impact: The work of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center expands every year.
Mission Kids serves nearly 600 children and teens annually, and that number continues
to rise. Since Mission Kids opened its doors in 2009, the organization has served over
5,000 children and their families. With each new client comes greater need for
extended resources and funds.
Our Friends: The ‘Young Friends of Mission Kids’ Committee was established to reach
new generations and audiences who are connected to our mission and to find new ways
to meet the ever-growing needs of our Child Advocacy Center. This group of Young
Professionals, ages 21-40 years old, is committed to supporting the Child Advocacy
Center’s mission through volunteerism, fundraising and community awareness.
Membership: Being an active member of the “Young Friends” Committee is a great way
to contribute your time and talents to an important cause. In return, you will have
opportunities for socializing, networking, leadership development and fun while doing
something meaningful for children.

Volunteer Inquiries:

Mission Kids is often seeking volunteers to help donate their time and talent to support our Child Advocacy Center. Our non-profit organization collaborates with volunteers for a variety of tasks including clerical, special event planning, along with outreach, prevention, and educational events in the community.
